Instagram batch-testing strategy for OF models
How to scale content based on data, not guesses
Jul 17, 2025
Start by testing 3–5 content types
Before scaling anything, figure out what works. Use one main account (or a test burner) and post 3–5 types of Reels over two weeks.
These could be:
trend-based reels
casual personality clips
raw iPhone footage
bold/explicit with CTA
aesthetic edits with slow hooks
Track reach, engagement, clicks, and follower growth. Don’t guess - measure. If you already use internal dashboards (like the ones some teams build in SYA), you’ll spot what hits faster.
Replicate the winners across multiple accounts
Once you find what hits (let’s say Reels type C performs best), replicate that style across your secondary accounts.
Structure it like this:
1 main account for authority
4 testing accounts to monitor new formats
5+ secondary accounts pushing the best-performing style
All posts lead to the same OF link or funnel - you just expand your reach with variations of what already works.
This method avoids burnout on one account and lets you dominate algorithmically without reinventing the wheel daily.
Assign tracking links to each account
If you’re running multiple accounts and don’t know which one drives paid subs, you’re flying blind.
Use custom links with UTM tracking (GetAllMyLinks or similar). Each IG account = 1 unique link. That way, you know where your money’s coming from.
In structured setups - especially those using tools like SYA - these links are auto-synced to dashboards. You’ll clearly see:
which reel drove traffic
which account led to subs
what the LTV is per account
If you're not using a centralized system, you’ll need to build this manually (Airtable + Make works well enough if set up right).
Follow a weekly content rhythm
Don’t just post - post with timing that aligns with how fans spend money.
Week 1 (start of month): 100% conversion content. Fans have cash - push it.
Week 2 & 3: Mix reach + conversion.
Week 4 (end of month): Focus on reach. People are broke - plant seeds for next month.
You want fans to see you before they’re ready to sub, not after their wallets are empty.
Make it repeatable, not random
This isn’t about running one good campaign - it’s about running a repeatable system that gives you real signals.
Once you have the format → accounts → tracking → rhythm set, your job becomes:
Test
Scale what works
Track
Adjust
That’s how Instagram becomes a machine for funneling subs - not just an aesthetic portfolio.
